AD-PR | The product featured in this review was kindly sent to me by Stylevana. All thoughts and opinions, however, are completely my own.
This is the last item from my Stylevana PR package and I think it’s definitely a worthy product to close on. I’ve been super fortunate to have received lots of amazing skincare goodies to try out, many from brands I hadn’t had the opportunity to test before. This was my first time trying anything from TIA’M and, fortunately, the My Signature Vita Red Sunscreen didn’t disappoint.
EDIT: The TIA’M My Signature Vita Red Sunscreen is now the TIA’M Daily Sun Care Cream. The ingredients and formula remain the same, it’s just the packaging and name that have changed 😊
What is it?
TIA’M My Signature Vita Red Sunscreen is a sun protection product that is designed specifically to be non-sticky and non-greasy. It has chemical AND mineral filters which means it both absorbs and reflects UV rays. On top of this, it also contains aloe vera extract, vitamin E and vitamin C derivatives which help soothe, nourish and brighten the skin.
What are the standout ingredients?
The ingredients list for this product is pretty long and I was surprised to see that some of the heavily advertised ingredients, like aloe vera, were right at the bottom. This sunscreen also contains alcohol and fragrance which may be irritating to some. Aside from that, here are some of the ingredients that WILL benefit your skin:
Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine – An oil-soluble compound that provides broad-spectrum protection against UVA and UVB rays. It’s considered one of the best performing sunscreen agents on the market.
Phenylbenzimidazole Sulfonic Acid – An organic compound that offers strong protection against UVB rays, but not against long range UVA rays.
Titanium Dioxide – A natural mineral that serves as a broad-spectrum UV filter (though it’s thought to be slightly more effective against UVB rays).
Aloe Leaf Extract – A natural extract derived from the aloe vera plant. It’s claimed to promote skin healing and reduce inflammation.
Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate – A salt of glycyrrhetic acid which comes from the liquorice plant. It has proven anti-inflammatory properties.
Tocopheryl Acetate – A synthetic form of vitamin E. It protects the skin from free radicals and helps with wound healing.
Ascorbyl Glucoside – A stable form of vitamin C. It has anti-ageing and collagen boosting benefits.
Ascorbic Acid – A bioactive form of vitamin C. High concentrations have been shown to reduce discolouration, improve skin firmness and neutralise free radicals.

How should you use this product?
Use as the last step of your skincare routine. Dot three-fingers worth of this product around your face and gently rub it in. Ideally apply 30 minutes (or more) before you go out into the sun and make sure to reapply throughout the day!
The Scent
This smells almost exactly like the COSRX Aloe Soothing Sun Cream! It has a clean, moisturiser-like scent that I wouldn’t necessarily place as a sunscreen.
The texture and finish
This is a cream-type sunscreen that has a richer texture than some of facial SPFs that you might be used to. At the risk of repeating myself, the consistency is so similar to the COSRX one. They both blend into the skin really nicely without leaving a white cast. Due to the silicone content, they also act as a really great base layer for foundation.
The packaging
I’m not normally too picky with the packaging of my sunscreens. After all, their sun protection ability is the most important thing!
I think the shape of this product is quite cool. The tube is long and thin so it’s fairly easy to store.
I’m not a massive fan of the colour – red packaging isn’t normally something that catches my eye. However, TIA’M have obviously designed it this way to match the rest of the My Signature Vita Red line, which makes sense.
EDIT: I much prefer the new packaging for the Daily Sun Care Cream!
Notes on sustainability
Ethical: All TIA’M products are cruelty-free. They do have a Snail & Azulene line which isn’t vegan. The Vita Red Sunscreen, however, is.
Environmental: The tube is plastic and looks to be recyclable. The lid is labelled as ‘other’ so it’s difficult to tell whether this is able to be recycled.
Overall thoughts
I’ve really enjoyed using this sunscreen and will 100% keep it in my routine!
It’s pretty comparable to the COSRX Aloe Soothing Sun Cream in terms of texture and function. Both are designed to provide moisture and both have a firm, creamy formula. Fortunately, neither leave a white cast either!
I actually checked the ingredients list of the COSRX and TIA’M sunscreens side by side and the only real difference is that the TIA’M product contains ascorbyl glucoside and ascorbic acid – two forms of vitamin C. Apart from that they are almost identical!
I still love the COSRX Aloe Sun Cream and usually alternate between the two! If you’re looking for something similar I definitely suggest giving the TIA’M one a try.
Where can I buy it?
You can buy a 50ml tube of this sunscreen from Stylevana, YesStyle and Jolse.
FAQ
Which skin types does the TIA’M My Signature Vita Red Sunscreen suit?
This is quite a rich, creamy sunscreen so I think it would be best suited to dry or sensitive skin. However, I do think all skin types could probably get away with wearing this as it doesn’t leave a shiny, greasy finish.
Does the TIA’M My Signature Vita Red Sunscreen contain alcohol?
This sunscreen does contain ethanol, but I don’t think the quantity is enough to cause your eyes to sting or to dry out the skin.
Does the TIA’M My Signature Vita Red Sunscreen leave a white cast?
This is a hybrid sunscreen so the mineral filters do have the potential to cause a white cast. Having said this, I’ve never noticed a white cast on my skin when using it.
Does the TIA’M My Signature Vita Red Sunscreen clog pores or cause breakouts?
This doesn’t contain comedogenic ingredients so it should be safe to use for acne-prone skin.
Is the TIA’M My Signature Vita Red Sunscreen cruelty-free?
Yes, this sunscreen is cruelty-free.
