A good WordPress theme can make or break a website. Think about it, it’s the first thing that people see when they click onto your blog, so it’s only natural for their first impressions to be based on this. You don’t need an expensive theme to make people stay on your site though. You just need it to be attractive, well-organised and easy to read.
For today’s post I thought I’d share some of my favourite WordPress themes, in the hopes that it’ll help you make your search a little easier. Whether you’re just looking to switch up the appearance of your site, or you’re a blogging newbie looking for your first WordPress theme, I’ve got you covered.
Here are the seven super cute WordPress themes I recommend for every type of blogger…
The Harper Theme by 17th Avenue
This was the first 17th Avenue theme I installed on my blog and it was 100% worth every penny. The theme is already SEO optimised, which gives you a step up when it comes to working on SEO for each individual post. It also has ‘Shop the Post’ widget integration so you can easily direct readers to your favourite items.
Isabelle WordPress Theme by Bluchic
This Bluchic WordPress theme is so gorgeous … and it’s really customisable too. You can change the logo and site colours to fit your brand’s aesthetic. You can also alter the width of the slider to make sure your pictures always look great.
This is a very visual blog theme so I feel like it really suits people who are into photography.
Rosewood WordPress Theme by Underline Designs
I love the simplicity of this WordPress theme and how easy it is to navigate. I got my first blog theme from Underline Designs and it was such good value for money considering the Genesis framework is included!
What I love about the Rosewood theme, in particular, is that you can change the posts slider at the top. You have three styles to choose from and they all look really modern and professional.
Feminine WordPress Theme by SkyandStars
The Mary Jane theme by SkyandStars is amazing value for money. I love the minimalistic style and I think the layout is really clear too. As far as cute WordPress themes go, this one has the basics nailed.
The Mia Theme by 17th Avenue
This is the theme I’m currently using and I’m obsessed with it! I like that there’s lots of white space so it makes your site look fresh and modern. There’s also a lot of room to play around with navigation menus to see what looks best. If you really want, you can have one right at the top of the page and one underneath the header too!
17th Avenue advertises this as a ‘theme built for bloggers and entrepreneurs’, and you can really see how it has been optimised for lifestyle blogging. In fact, the demo comes in three formats – food, travel and fashion – so you can check out how this theme would suit your niche.
Emma Lake WordPress Theme by BlogPixie
Emma Lake is an adorable WordPress theme recommended for ‘fashion, beauty, lifestyle or business bloggers’. Like most of the other themes on this list, this one is responsive, meaning it adjusts to fit different screen sizes – always a plus!
This theme is also really customisable so you can change it to fit your brand identity.
Vivian WordPress Theme by studiochem
If you’re looking for a theme that will let you write blog posts and sell your own products, this is it. The Vivian WordPress theme has been designed with creative professionals in mind, so it gives you the best of both worlds.
The shop layout is also Woocommerce ready meaning once the theme is installed you’re good to go on the selling front!
