The best weekends are the kind where you can sit around and do nothing. I definitely find I’m most relaxed when I know I have no pressure to do anything or go anywhere. But, sometimes we don’t have the time to lounge on the sofa all day watching hours and hours of our favourite Netflix show (although that would be the dream!). Sundays are also the day where you have to fit in all the things you know you can’t do during the week. That’s where these self-care Sunday ideas come in!
I’ve compiled a list of realistic self-care ideas that will prepare you for the week while still allowing you to recharge and enjoy your Sunday off.
Self-care Sunday Ideas To Get You Ready For The Week Ahead:
1. Change your bedding
We should be washing our bedsheets every week anyway, so why not make Sunday the designated day? This way you can tuck into bed at the end of the week feeling clean, fresh and totally prepared for the workdays ahead.
If you really want to relax and unwind, try spraying your pillow with a little lavender mist too. It makes your sleeping environment feel so much calmer.
2. Use a hair mask
I’m always wishing that I paid more attention to my hair, but I really don’t have the time during the week to be applying masks or treatments. I usually save this til the weekend when I can dedicate some time to nourishing and reviving my locks after days of heat styling.
This feels productive AND relaxing so it’s a win-win!
If you’re looking for recommendations, I have a blog post containing my top hair mask picks for bleached, damaged hair.
3. Have a healthy brunch
This is probably one of my favourite things to do on the weekend. It’s so nice to be able to spend as much time as you want preparing food that you’re actually looking forward to eating!
Lunches during the week usually consist of something quick and unexciting. But on Sundays you can go all out!
Check out this post from Love & Lemons for a selection of sweet and savoury brunch ideas.
4. Write a t0-do list
Ok so this might not be the most fun thing to do, but it’s sooo necessary. Making a list of the tasks you need to complete during the week ahead will not only help you stay organised, it’ll give you peace of mind too.
I always feel way less stressed when I’ve planned out what I need to do and when I need to do it. Listing tasks also allows me to see which things I should prioritise and which things I could perhaps leave for a later date.

5. Arrange your outfits for the week
If you’re anything like me, it takes you ages to decide on an outfit to wear. Take some of the stress away by planning your outfits in advance!
Of course, it doesn’t need to be set in stone. But having some idea of what you’re going to wear can save you so much time in the morning.
6. Have a good scrub
After a long week I find one of the most relaxing things to do is take a looong shower where I can shave, exfoliate and properly wash my hair.
My favourite body scrub at the minute is the Get Scrubbed Coffee Avena Scrub (PR). Samantha, the owner of Get Scrubbed, kindly sent it over to me a few weeks ago and I’ve been using it religiously since. It smells just like a cup of coffee, there’s seriously nothing better to wake you up in the morning.
7. Moisturise your body
This is a self-care step that so many people forget about! We never skip moisturiser on our face so we shouldn’t skip it on our body either. But things get in the way and sometimes moisturising can get pushed to the side.
If you don’t have time to moisturise every time you get out of the bath or shower, try and do this at least once a week. You’ll notice such a difference in your skin if you do!
8. Apply a face mask
Sundays are the perfect time to show your skin a little TLC. Make sure your face isn’t drying out after your shower by going to straight in with a hydrating mask. And, if you’re feeling like your skin needs extra moisture, why not apply some eye patches too.
The Heimish Bulgarian Rose Water Hydrogel Eye Patches are my top pick. You can read my full review of them here.
9. Refresh your nails
Painting my nails is such a calming activity for me. It’s so nice to be able to take my mind off of everything that’s going on while still doing something fun and creative.
But you don’t necessarily have to go all out and decorate them if you don’t want to. Refreshing your nails might simply consist of cutting and shaping them – whatever you feel like doing!

10. Prep your lunches
Like outfit planning, this might not be the most thrilling task to do. But it’s something that will not only save you time during the week, it’ll save you money too.
Batch cooking will keep you organised and make sure that you’re eating healthy. There’s nothing worse than shoving a few breakfast bars and a packet of crisps into your work bag because you’ve forgotten to prepare anything!
11. Listen to a podcast
I saved this one until last because I feel it’s something you can do while you’re carrying out the other actions on this list.
One of my favourite ways to practice self-care is by learning something new, and podcasts are an amazing way to do this.
I’ve even created a whole blog post on the beauty podcasts that have enlightened and inspired me which you should definitely check out!
What are your fave self-care Sunday ideas? Will you be trying out any of these? Let me know.
