AD info | The Juno & Co Clean 10 Cleansing Balm was sent to me by the brand, however, I am under no obligation to post this review.
I’m back this week with another cleansing balm review, and this time it’s the Juno & Co Clean 10 Cleansing Balm that’s taking centre stage. Cleansing balms are undoubtedly my most used skincare product… which is why I get so excited when I find a good one! Juno & Co actually sent me this last year and I did a brief review on my Instagram, but I thought it was about time that this product got its own blog post!
About Juno & Co
Founded in 2017, Juno & Co is a beauty brand that’s all about simplicity and minimalism. Their products often contain just a few key ingredients, the key mission being to reduce wasteful consumption and use only what is needed.
You might have seen the Clean 10 Cleansing Balm on TikTok – it went viral very recently. The brand’s microfibre sponges are also super popular on social media.
If you’re interested in finding out more about Juno & Co and how it started, The Story of a Brand has a couple of really great podcast episodes with co-founder Mira Torres, so definitely check them out.
What’s special about the Clean 10 cleansing balm?
The Clean 10 balm is an oil-based cleanser that, as the name suggests, contains just 10 ingredients. It’s designed to gently remove makeup, while brightening and nourishing the skin at the same time.
What are the standout ingredients?
Fermented Japanese pearl barley – High in vitamins B3 and E, pearl barley has been shown to brighten the skin and prevent hyperpigmentation. It also fights free radicals.
Tocopheryl acetate – A synthetic form of vitamin E. It protects the skin from free radicals and helps with wound healing.
How should you use the Clean 10 Cleansing Balm?
Using the spatula that’s included, scoop out some of the product and warm it up between your fingers. Once the balm has transformed into an oil, massage it into your skin, making sure to take particular care around the eyes. Rinse off with lukewarm water, or use a reusable cotton round / washcloth to really make sure you’re removing all the product.
How do I feel about…?
THE SCENT
The inclusion of orange peel oil gives this balm a light, citrusy scent that makes it smell really fresh and clean. It’s a noticeable scent, but I wouldn’t say it’s overly heady. For me, this is the perfect amount of fragrance in a skincare product.
THE TEXTURE
The texture of the Clean 10 cleansing balm is what makes it one of the best I’ve tried. This really is so smooth and creamy – it melts into your skin without the need for much rubbing at all! And this isn’t scratchy or grainy (like some other cleansing balms can be), it’s SUPER gentle on the skin.
This isn’t a firm balm, so I did find that when it arrived the product had moved around in the tub a little, but this isn’t a big deal. I was more concerned that the product would leak out of the tub (because it does feel like more of a paste than a balm). Thankfully this hasn’t happened so far!
Like the Heimish All Clean Balm, this product transforms in three steps. It’s has the consistency of a balm when it’s in the tub, it turns into an oil when you massage it into your face, and finally it becomes a milk when you wash it off. These are my favourite types of cleansing balms, so I love that the Clean 10 balm fits into this group.
THE PACKAGING
Honestly, the packaging is probably my least favourite thing about the product. The blue and beige cardboard box is a pretty simple and feels a little underwhelming for a product that is in itself so brilliant. Though, looking at their website, I think the design of the box has actually changed since I received this – the new one is a massive improvement!
Also, while the plastic pot (with its hidden second lid) is fine, I don’t feel like it works as intended… at least not from my experience. Every time I tried to close the tub, the inner lid got stuck within the top screw-on lid and I couldn’t close it properly. In the end I just threw the second lid away because I was worried that the product would be compromised if I couldn’t keep it sealed! The compartment with the spoon and second lid is a good idea in theory, but I just wish it worked a little better.

Notes on sustainability
Juno & Co says that they put sustainability at the core of their brand but I wouldn’t say that the website sets out their ESG goals very clearly. Obviously they’re trying to simplify their formulas and minimise the amount of waste that their products produce. However, it would be nice to have some concrete figures so we can actually see the impact of these promises.
The website claims that the packaging is reusable and recyclable, and – after scrolling through the brand’s Instagram – I discovered that every cleansing balm sold saves 100 makeup wipes. In another Instagram post, Juno & Co also stated that some of their products (e.g. the Clarifying Cleansing Powder) are made from upcycled ingredients. I really wish they put this information front and centre on their website instead of us having to scroll through their social platforms to find it!
Overall thoughts
This is for sure one of the best cleansing balms I’ve tried. It’s buttery, zesty and – most importantly – really gentle on the skin. I was initially worried that I’d find the orange peel oil to be irritating, but this hasn’t been the case at all. My skin is pretty sensitive so I always have to be careful with the products I use, and I can honestly say that this cleansing balm has been such a lovely addition to my skincare routine.
Some cleansing balms can feel scratchy or leave a sticky residue on the skin – this one fortunately does neither! It’s also really effective at removing makeup, even waterproof mascara comes off pretty easily.
Where can I buy it?
You can buy this product directly from the Juno & Co website. It’s £14 ($14.95) for 85g, which is pretty affordable for a cleansing balm! Because it is so budget friendly, you can find it on my list of affordable cleansing balms under £15 (along with a handful of my other favourite cleansers).
One suggestion: it would be great if this cleansing balm was more accessible for UK / ROW customers. You can buy the microfibre sponges on Beauty Bay, but it doesn’t look like you can order Juno & Co skincare from any major UK retailers.

You can buy the cleansing balm from Amazon UK. Unfortunately you can’t seem to purchase the other products, the cleansing balm would appear to be the only one. If you want to buy the rest you can have it shipped from the states. Delivery is free if it’s over a certain amount. I think it was about $65 which is pretty steep, unless you use the whole range and buybat one time!

It’s so frustrating that you can’t buy all the products in one place! Fingers crossed that it gets picked up by one of the major beauty retailers here in the UK 🤞 I love the cleansing balm but can’t justify doing an order from the website when the shipping is more than the balm itself 😬

I used the cleansing balm for the first time yesterday and my skin felt very tight and dry and uncomfortable. I had to apply my YTP oil right away. I will try it one more time and if I still don’t like it I will return to Amazon.

Hi Maureen, I’m really sorry that the cleansing balm didn’t work for you. I would definitely avoid it if it continues to leave your skin feeling tight and dry. A cleansing balm or oil that doesn’t contain any essential oils might be a good alternative 🙂
