The Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is a cult K-beauty item. If you’re into Korean skincare and you’ve haven’t heard of this product, where the hell have you been loca?! 🐺
This Laneige lip mask was one of the first Korean skincare products I ever purchased. And one that I keep going back and repurchasing (not that I have to do it often because a pot of this stuff lasts forever!).
If you suffer with perpetually dry lips, you’ll appreciate the power of a good lip balm. And it’s safe to say, the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask really does do the job.
A swipe or two of this stuff and you’ll wake up with the softest lips of your life! It’s saved my skin (literally) on more than one occasion.
The downside… it’s very pricey. And when you consider it’s essentially just an ultra-nourishing lip balm, you start to wonder whether there are other products out there that could work just as well.
I’m always looking for ways to save a few pennies in my beauty routine, so I tasked myself with finding the best Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask dupes. And I found some great options.
I’ve got the original Berry flavour of the Laneige Lip Mask so this is what I was looking for in the dupes I picked out too.
Without further ado, let’s jump in.
What is the Laneige Lip Mask? And why do people love it?
Laneige’s Lip Sleeping Mask does exactly what it says on the tin. It’s an overnight lip treatment which is supposed to intensely nourish and moisturise your lips as you sleep.
It’s got a rich, buttery texture which coats the lips and stays on until morning. When you wake up, your lips are meant to feel soft and plump, and much less flaky too.
If we jump into the ingredients, we can see that the Laneige Lip Mask contains quite a few plant butters and oils to lock in moisture. We’ve got Shea Butter, Murumuru Seed Butter and Coconut Oil in here.
We’ve also got Vitamin C and Laneige’s Berry Fruit Complex™ which is also supposed to deliver hydration.

What makes a good Laneige Lip Mask dupe?
5 Best Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask Dupes to Try:
1. Tree Hut Overnight Lip Mask
You could easily swap out your Laneige Lip Mask for the Tree Hut Overnight Lip Mask. It comes in four flavours – Strawberry, Vanilla, Watermelon and Frozen Honey – which are just as sweet and exciting as your K-beauty fave.
Like the Laneige Lip Mask, this is made with Shea Butter. It also contains Vitamin E to fortify the skin barrier.
Why pick this dupe:
- Thick, non-sticky formula
- Vegan and cruelty-free
- Similar scents
- Contains extra plant oils, like Coconut, Olive and Sunflower
Price: £12.99 / $9.99 (17g)
Where to buy it: Boots, Ulta, Walmart
2. Boots Lip Sleep Mask
Boots is definitely giving Laneige a run for its money with its Berry Lip Sleep Mask. From the scent to the applicator, this is very similar to the original – just way cheaper!
Containing Shea Butter, Murumuru Seed Butter and Coconut Oil, the ingredients list is actually very close to the Laneige Lip Mask too. Except this time we’ve also got a few extra plant oils and Hyaluronic Acid.
Well, if you’re going to make a dupe, you might as well improve on the formula too!
I love that Boots has brought all the flavours together into this one Mini Collection, it’s a great way to try them all and find your fave.
Why pick this dupe:
- Same glossy finish
- Good selection of flavours
- Includes additional hydrating ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid, Grape Seed Oil and Raspberry Seed Oil
- Under £5!
Price: £4.50 (20g)
Where to buy it: Boots
3. Grace & Stella Berry Lip Mask
Of all the Laneige Lip Mask dupes on this list, the Grace & Stella one probably strays from the OG formula the most.
This Lip Mask is powered by Mineral Oil and Petrolatum (the stuff that makes up Vaseline). These are thick, occlusive ingredients which create a protective barrier and prevent water loss.
We do have some plant-based ingredients in here too. A blend of Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil and Coconut Oil really doubles down on the moisturising power of this lip mask.
The only hitch, this doesn’t come with a little spatula so you may just have to get your hands messy!
Why pick this dupe:
- Occlusive formula which helps lock in moisture
- A good mix of plant butters and plant oils
- Vegan and cruelty-free
Price: £15 / $10 (20g)
Where to buy it: Grace & Stella
4. KLAVUU Nourishing Care Lip Sleeping Pack
If you’re a K-beauty enthusiast, we have a contender from Korean cosmetic brand KLAVUU. Their Nourishing Care Lip Sleeping Pack is available in four fruity flavours: Berry, Vanilla, Coconut and Melon.
This KLAVUU lip mask is absolutely jam packed with plant oils. Seriously, the ingredients list is very impressive! We’ve got Castor Oil, Moringa Oil Oil, Argan Oil, and more. Plus, a whole host of skin-loving plant extracts like Turmeric, Neem and Watermelon.
Again, though, this one doesn’t come with an applicator, so be prepared to use your fingers!
Why pick this dupe:
- Full of nourishing plant oils
- Fancy, frosted glass packaging
- Super glossy finish
Price: £6 / $8 (20g)
Where to buy it: YesStyle, Stylevana, Olive Young
5. CARE:NEL Berry Lip Night Mask
Another K-beauty pick, this CARE:NEL dupe is a fraction of the price of the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask.
It has a slightly lighter texture, but it’s still balmy and super hydrating. Don’t be fooled by the packaging either, because while it looks almost identical to the Laneige Lip Mask, the formula is actually pretty different.
This comes closest to the Grace & Stella Lip Mask in terms of ingredients, as Mineral Oil and Petrolatum make an appearance again. On top of that, we’ve got Olive Oil and Macadamia to keep dryness and flakiness at bay.
Why pick this dupe:
- Similar packaging
- Very similar scent to the Laneige mask
- Packed with antioxidant-rich plant extracts
- Vegan and cruelty-free
Price: £5 / $6 (23g)
Where to buy it: YesStyle, Stylevana
Final thoughts
The Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is a Korean skincare icon for a reason. But there’s no doubt that there are many other overnight treatments that do an equally good job at moisturising and protecting the lips.
The word ‘dupe’ can be a bit contentious, especially when brands straight up make carbon copies of other products.
I wouldn’t say all the products above are exact replicas of the Laneige Lip Mask though.
Of course, they share similarities. But it’s the small differences that appeal to me just as much as the low price!
I love, for example, that most of the dupes above are vegan and cruelty-free. If a product is cheaper, and not tested on animals, choosing whether to pick the dupe or the original is a no brainer really!
