Asian beauty products have become massively popular across the globe, yet it can still be surprisingly challenging to get your hands on the items you want, especially if you’re shopping locally.

That’s where online marketplaces like YesStyle come in.

YesStyle promise low prices and genuine products, offering access to hundreds of Asian brands with just the click of a button…

It feels like there must be some catch, right?

I’ve ordered from YesStyle a handful of times, so I thought I’d share my honest shopping experience when it comes to buying makeup and skincare from this website.

I’ll be exploring some of your burning questions (are YesStyle products genuine? how long will it take for my order to arrive? will I have to pay customs?) to prep you before you make your first order.

Let’s dive in!

What is YesStyle?

YesStyle is a marketplace for Asian beauty, fashion and lifestyle products. Based in Hong Kong, they import their beauty products directly from Korea, Japan, etc. then distribute them to customers all over the world.

NB. I’ve only ever ordered beauty products from YesStyle so I can’t speak for the clothing, or other lifestyle and health products, they offer.

Are YesStyle beauty products authentic?

With YesStyle prices as low as they are, it’s understandable to question the authenticity of the products. But they source all of their products from reputable suppliers, so you don’t have to worry about counterfeits.

YesStyle is an authorised retailer of over 300 beauty brands, including some of your K-beauty faves like Beauty of Joseon, COSRX and SKIN1004. This means they have express permission from the brands to sell their products.

Top tip

If you’re unsure about a K-beauty distributor, visit the brand’s official website and try to find an ‘Authorised retailer’ page. You’ll be able to see whether it’s listed. In the links above, you can see that YesStyle is authorised by the brands themselves to sell Beauty of Joseon, COSRX and SKIN1004 products.

Is everything properly packaged and in date?

A key concern when order beauty products from a website you’re not familiar with, is what condition the products will turn up in.

In my experience, everything I’ve ordered from YesStyle has been packaged really efficiently. Nothing’s arrived broken, dented or leaking. All the seal stickers on the boxes have been in tact, as well as the foil safety seals on the products themselves.

Everything I’ve ordered has been in date too. It always pays to check!

MUST KNOW: When it comes to finding expiration dates on Korean skincare products, there’s two key words that you’re going to want to know. “제조” is the manufacturing date. “까지” is the expiry date. If your product says “20251003까지”, for example, this means it’s good to use until 3rd October 2025.

How much is shipping from YesStyle?

If you spend over £50, Standard Shipping to the UK is completely free. If you spend under £50, shipping is £3.85. I feel like this is pretty reasonable given how far your parcel has to travel!

For those in the US, Standard Shipping is free for orders over $49, or $6 if your order is under.

If you want your order to arrive a bit quicker, you can opt for Express Shipping instead. This is free if you spend over $99, but $11 otherwise.

How long does shipping from YesStyle take?

YesStyle ships all orders from their warehouse in Hong Kong, so understandably it can take a little while for your products to arrive.

According to the YesStyle website, Standard Shipping to the UK takes 5 – 13 business days, while it’s 10-14 days for Standard Shipping to the US.

Express Shipping to the US can be as quick as 3-5 days, if you’re prepared to spend a bit more to qualify for the free shipping.

In my experience ordering to the UK, the timeline above seems to be quite accurate. The longest I’ve had to wait between placing an order and receiving my parcel was 16 business days – most orders tend to take somewhere between two to three weeks to arrive.

That said, how long your parcel takes to arrive does massively depend on if the products you want to order are in stock. If you have to wait 14 days for one item to become available, this will delay the whole order! I’ll go into more detail about this below…

How do I track my YesStyle order?

This is the part of the YesStyle shopping experience I find the most frustrating.

You’ll receive a ‘Shipment Invoice’ as soon as your order is sent out. Most retailers would send a tracking code out in this email too, so you can check and see where your parcel is in its journey. But YesStyle says that the tracking code is not yet available, and you’ll have to log in to your account later to find it.

No big deal, but it can sometimes take quite a while for them to add the tracking info to your account. And even when they do update the tracking code, it doesn’t always work.

With previous orders, YesStyle has only provided a Royal Mail tracking code… which only works once the parcel has reached the UK. This means that there’s about two weeks of not knowing where your parcel is.

In my experience, it does always arrive, but you may only get one day of notice before it actually shows up at your door!

Will I be hit with customs duties?

Customs duties will vary depending on the country you’re in, so I recommend checking your government website before you order.

If you’re in the UK, for example, there’s no charge on goods under £135. So you can order up to £135 worth of skincare without having to worry about forking out more money on top of what you’ve already paid.

I like to veer on the safe side, so I always tend to order under the £135 threshold. If you do order over this amount, though, there’s no need to panic because YesStyle has you covered. They’ll refund any fees under US$ 1,000 (or the equivalent in your currency) if you submit a refund claim.

Pros and cons

pros

  • Products are sourced from reputable suppliers so you know they’re genuine
  • Affordable pricing
  • Constant sales, and easy to find a discount code if not
  • Massive selection of Asian beauty products
  • Good loyalty programme

cons

  • Shipping can often take a while, especially if the product is not in stock when you order
  • Tracking is unreliable so you don’t know when your order might turn up

Top tips for shopping from YesStyle

  1. Choose products that ship quickly to avoid processing delays
Usually above the ‘Add to bag’ button, you’ll see a notice of when the product is available. If it says it ‘ships within 24 hours’ or ‘ships within 1-2 days’, this is your green light to buy it. If it’s going to take longer (it can sometimes take up to 21 days), this will hold up your whole order so I generally don’t think it’s worth adding it to your bag. You can sort by ‘Availability’ so it’s easier to see which products are in stock.
  2. Make a YesStyle account
When you sign up for a YesStyle account, you automatically become a member of the YesStyle Elite Club. This means you can start earning points when you spend. Regular members earn earn 1 YS Point for every US$ 1 spent. 100 YS Points = $1 off a future order. You can also earn points by writing product reviews and downloading the app.
  3. Take advantage of discount codes
YesStyle will usually have offers on the homepage or codes running across a banner at the top of the website. You always want to make sure you’re applying a discount to your basket!

Final Verdict: Is YesStyle Legit?

Yes, YesStyle is perfectly safe to shop from. The products are genuine and come packaged well (with some samples thrown in too!). It’s an official stockist for many Asian beauty brands, which is why it’s one of the first places people turn to when they’re looking to stock up.

Though your order may take a while to arrive, it will turn up eventually. And if it doesn’t, YesStyle has a pretty good customer service team, so they’ll be able to assist if your order goes missing.

Because the prices are so cheap, it’s natural to question the legitimacy of K-beauty retailers, like YesStyle, which manage to heavily discount their products. But I’ve not had a bad experience yet.

If you want to shop Asian beauty products at affordable prices, I definitely recommend giving YesStyle a go.

  1. Absolutely not true. This company has almost universally horrible reviews and rightfully so. I ordered. They provided a fake tracking number saying their products were delivered. Products weren’t delivered and PayPal wouldn’t help because THEIR tracking said “delivered”. I’m out $$$ Do not buy from this sham company!

    1. Hi Ann, I’m really sorry to hear that was your experience, I can only imagine how frustrating and disappointing that is! My review was based on previous orders I’ve made, but I totally understand that other shoppers might have different experiences. Thanks so much for sharing so other readers can see both sides of the coin.
