One of my main beauty goals this year is to take better care of my hair. So, when I saw this Honey Infused Haircare Set from Gisou I knew I had to add it to my beauty wish list. The hair oil is already a firm fave of soooo many haircare enthusiasts on Instagram, but I was curious about Gisou’s other products too. I really hadn’t heard much about the mask or the shampoo and conditioner … which is why I thought this set was the perfect way to give them a try!
Here are my first impressions…
About Gisou
Gisou is a honey-based haircare (and skincare) brand that was founded in 2015 by Negin Mirsalehi. Coming from a family of beekeepers, Negin created Gisou in the hope of fusing two of her greatest passions: beauty and bees.
GISOU HONEY INFUSED HAIRCARE REVIEW:
Gisou Hair Oil
This is the product I was most excited to try and it 100% lived up to my expectations! First off, it smells divine – I was a bit worried it would be a bit too sweet, but it’s not at all sickly or heady. Secondly, the packaging is gorgeous. It definitely doubles as a showpiece for your dressing table!
Because my hair is quite fine, I am super picky with hair oils. If they’re too thick or heavy I often find that they make my hair look limp or greasy – not exactly what you want out of a product designed to make your hair soft and shiny!!
The only hair oil I haven’t had this probably with so far is the MoroccanOil Treatment. I can apply handfuls of the stuff and it never seems to weigh my hair down, so I was really interested to see if the Gisou Honey Infused Hair Oil could knock it off the top spot.
The first time I used the Gisou Hair Oil I went in far too heavy and I did notice that my hair was feeling a bit sticky. So the next time I applied it I used only a TINY drop or two and this seemed to do the trick! You really only need a small amount of this oil to get that silky soft feeling!!
I love, love, love this and would recommend it to anyone looking for a new hair oil.
Gisou Hair Mask
Ok, this is the product that surprised me most. Honestly, I’m a little lazy when it comes to hair masks, especially since I find that they don’t often make a difference to my hair. It seems like a lot of effort for little payoff. But with the Gisou Hair Mask I noticed that my hair felt SO MUCH softer and smoother.
The Gisou website suggests that you can use this in two different ways:
- Pre-shampoo: Apply the mask to dry hair. Let it soak in for an hour and then rinse it out in the shower.
- Post-shampoo: Wash your hair with shampoo. Apply the mask to towel-dry hair. Leave to sit for 5-7 minutes, then rinse it out thoroughly.
I went for the pre-shampoo method and just applied a bit of this to the ends of my hair. After leaving it for an hour, I rinsed it out and then followed it up with the Gisou shampoo and conditioner. My hair has never felt so hydrated!
The pot that comes with the Honey Infused Haircare Set is only 25ml, so you have to be pretty frugal with this if you want it to last. But, after I ran out of the mini, I decided I liked it so much that I bought the full size! It was definitely worth it – this makes my hair feel amazingly soft and it’s such a great weekly treatment. This is pretty much a staple in my self-care Sunday routine – it’s the perfect way to refresh my hair at the end of a busy week.

Gisou Shampoo
This is a really lovely shampoo. It smells gorgeous, the texture’s great and it has that stunning honey-gold colour.
I do love how gentle the product is and how luxurious it feels when you’re washing your hair with it. But I wish it lathered a bit more as I found that I was using quite a lot of the shampoo in just one rinse. With my fine hair I usually only need a couple of pumps of product to get a good wash. However, with the Gisou shampoo I often need an extra pump or two to make sure that my hair’s completely covered.
Aside from this, I do think it’s a really nice option for dry hair types. It leaves my hair feeling super soft and moisturised – I really do notice a difference in my hair quality when I use this. Because of the price, however, I don’t tend to use it as my everyday shampoo. Instead, I’ll use this once or twice a week (or whenever my hair needs some TLC).
Edit (Jan 2023): Gisou have recently revamped the formula of this shampoo and I’ve heard that it lathers way better than the old one! Once I try it, I’ll come back and give a comparison.
Gisou Conditioner
In combination with the shampoo, this conditioner really does leave your hair smelling and feeling amazing. It’s creamy and nourishing, offering lots of moisture without weighing the hair down. The consistency is slightly thinner than I’m used to, but I don’t think this has an impact on the efficiency. My hair still feels soft and hydrated when I rinse it out!
Overall, I have similar feelings about the Gisou conditioner as I do the shampoo. It’s a really good conditioner… I just don’t know if I would consistently spend £26 on replacing it. If you’re torn between the two I would definitely suggest trying out the shampoo first!
Edit (June 2022): I received the shampoo and conditioner as a birthday gift and these really do make an amazing present. I’m also pleasantly surprised at how long they’re lasting. I was worried that I’d get through them super quickly but so far so good!
Final thoughts
I can 100% see why Gisou products have built up such a huge reputation in the haircare community – they really are amazing. For me, there are two clear winners within this Honey Infused Haircare Set though … and that’s the hair oil and hair mask.
The hair mask makes my hair feel like silk when I rinse it out, and the oil leaves my hair smelling fresh and floral all day. I’ll seriously never get sick of the scent!
If you get the chance, I do recommend trying the shampoo and conditioner too. Using all these products together feels really luxurious and they smell SO good in combination with each other.
Where can I buy these Gisou products?
You can grab the full-size version of each of these products on the Gisou website, Selfridges or Cult Beauty. Sephora UK also stocks them.
If you’re looking to try these out before you commit to buying the full-size products, I highly recommend the Gisou Honey Infused Haircare Set. It’s amazing value and is a great way to see if these products are right for you!
EDIT: Unfortunately, because this was a limited edition set, it doesn’t seem to be sold anymore. Gisou regularly comes out with new value sets though, and this Honey Infused Cleanse & Care Set is really similar! It’s also on offer at the moment!
There you have it – a quick review of the Gisou Honey Infused Haircare Set! Have you tried any Gisou products? Let me know in the comments.

hey, where can you buy this set if your not from the UK? I tried looking but nothing came up. Just wondering if you knew! I don’t know if I’m ready for the full price yet so I just wanna try them.

Hi Lila! I think this might be a limited edition set as I can’t seem to find it anymore either! The new version is this one which has the hair perfume and leave-in conditioner in place of the travel-sized shampoo and conditioner. You can buy the shampoo and conditioner minis separately if you’re looking to try these, it’s a shame that they no longer come in the set though!
