Casual Midi Dresses That Will Keep You Cool This Summer

I’ve been slacking a bit with the fashion posts so I felt like it was time to do a summer round-up. Nothing says “summer’s here” like a long, flowy dress, but finding the right one can take hours of scrolling. Let’s face it, trawling through multiple websites until we find the perfect outfit doesn’t sound like the best way to spend our time – especially when we could be out in the sun instead. Motel Lona Midi Dress in Ditsy Rose Lilac £42.00

Motel’s Lona Midi Dress is my top pick this summer. The lilac colour is really pretty and the milkmaid-style neckline is super cute too. What’s perhaps best about this dress is also that it’s extremely versatile. You can dress it up with a cute pair of sandals or keep it casual with some white trainers.

Nobody’s Child Green Textured Gingham Esme Midi Dress £45.00

This gingham dress gives me serious picnic vibes and I imagine it would make a great summer outfit too! The puffed sleeves with the little bows are adorable, and the leg split isn’t too revealing either. It’s not super modest but it would be an ideal dress for those who like to cover up a bit more in the summer.

French Connection Aura Drape Midi Dress £95.00

This French Connection midi dress is another of my faves. The sweetheart neckline makes it look really elegant and the ditsy flower print is just so cute. Plus, it’s black so it’ll be super easy to match it with other items in your wardrobe!

Bershka Jacquard Halter Midi Dress with Side Rings £25.99

Ok, this isn’t exactly a dupe for the House of Sunny Hockney Dress, but I think it’s a great alternative. The side rings are a really nice touch and the geometric semicircle design is so unique. This might well be the midi dress of the summer.

Mango Printed Camisole Dress £35.99

This Mango animal print dress is gorgeous and, again, I think it’s something you could dress up or down depending on the occasion. I love the draped neck and the fact it’s made out of satin. This is exactly the kind of light, airy dress you need for hot summer days.

New Look Black Gingham Shirred Square Neck Midi Dress £29.99

New Look always surprises me with their summer selection. This year they’ve got tonnes of gorgeous casual midi dresses to choose from – it was actually super difficult to narrow them down for this post. But, since I love a square neck, this one stole the show for me.

Motel Larin Midi Dress in Floral Field Green £45.00

Like New Look, Motel’s midi dresses are also on point this season. This floral green offering is so stunning and would look good on everybody! Pair this with some gold jewellery and you’re onto a winner.

French Connection Aura Ditsy Verona Tie Midi Dress £76.00

I love how unique the bodice of this dress is – the tie front and cut out detail really make it! I also love the subtle floral design, tbh from far away this could even be mistaken for animal print. So, if you’re someone who usually steers away from big, bold patterns, this could be the dress for you.

Nobody’s Child White and Yellow Lemon Alexis Tie Sleeve Midi Dress £45.00

Fruit had to make an appearance somewhere in this post, and I couldn’t not include this gorgeous tie sleeve midi from Nobody’s Child. I’m obsessed with the design. And, what’s even better is that this dress is made from Lenzing EcoVero – a fabric that comes from certified renewable wood sources and generates up to 50% lower emissions than traditional viscose.

VRG GRL Summer Weekend Knit Midi Dress $99.00 AUD

I’ve been eyeing up this dress for weeks and it’s only a matter of time before I give in and buy it. This midi looks so flattering and, if the reviews are anything to go by, it feels super comfortable and high quality too.

Free People Vintage Summer Midi Dress £88

White dresses are a summer staple – everyone needs at least one. I like this Free People version because it’s a little longer than most midis, which balances out the plunging neckline. It would also be really easy to accessorise, so that gives it an extra few plus points in my book.
