Before making the switch to Wild’s Refillable Stick Deodorant, I’d been a long-time roll on user.
Moving to a stick deo wasn’t a huge jump, I found it offered many of the same features that my favourite roll on did: quick application, great scents, and a gentle, sensitive skin-friendly formula.
That said, stick deodorants and roll ons do have their differences… and I don’t mean that in a negative way! They each have their own different benefits.
While I love the balmy protection of the stick formula, on days when I wanted a weightless, invisible refresh, I did miss my roll on!
That’s why I was super excited when I saw that Wild had launched a roll on deodorant. And even more buzzing when it landed on my doorstep!
From scents to packaging, finish to performance, here are my thoughts on the Wild Refillable Roll On.
What is Wild’s Roll On Deodorant?
Wild’s Roll On Deodorant is a water-based, liquid formula that’s made from 95% natural ingredients. It’s designed to be lightweight and fast-drying, with a barely-there finish. Yes, that means no flakiness or white marks on clothing!
Wild claims that this deodorant offers 24 hour protection and ‘triple action odour defence’, which I – of course – had to put to the test.
Like the Stick Deodorant, this Roll On version is completely refillable and the refills can be composted when you’re done with them.
Key ingredients
As with all Wild products, the Roll On formula is vegan and cruelty-free. It’s not quite the same as the stick version, but it still has a good selection of ingredients that help fight odour and keep you feeling fresh.
We’ve got:
- Zinc Ricinoleate – A biodegradable deodorant agent derived from castor oil. It traps and absorbs odour molecules.
- Inulin – A natural prebiotic which comes from chicory root. It feeds good bacteria and supports the skin’s microbiome.
- Sage Oil – Has antimicrobial and astringent properties, helping reduce excess moisture and control odour-producing bacteria.

Packaging
Like the Wild Stick Deodorant, the Roll On comes in a lightweight aluminium case.
It’s slightly bigger than your typical store-bought roll on, and actually slightly chunkier than Wild’s Stick Deodorant too, but still perfectly practical for taking on the go.
In fact, I kind of prefer taking this out and about with me (as opposed to the stick version) as it’s way less messy.

Scents
Wild’s Roll On Deodorant currently comes in eight different scents, with a good mix of fruity, floral, and sweet options.
I have Fresh Cotton & Sea Salt which smells just like fresh laundry – a great choice if you’re a fan of traditional ‘clean’ fragrances.
If you’re more into warm and woody scents, you might want to give Wild’s Roll On Antiperspirant a go instead.
Like the Roll On Deodorant, it’s also available in eight different scents. Aside from Fresh Cotton & Sea Salt and Coconut & Vanilla, though, the selection is completely different.
You’ve got refills like Cedar & Sandalwood and Amber & Oud which are decidedly more musky.

How to refill Wild’s Roll On Deodorant
Setting up your Wild Roll On takes no more than a minute – two max! Simply:
- Remove the lid of your case.
- Grab the refill and give it a shake.
- Twist off the cap of your refill.
- Screw the refill into the lid of your case.
- Slot the lid and refill back into the case.
- You’re good to go!
My experience with Wild’s Roll On
From first use, I could tell I was going to like this formula. It’s light, invisible, and applies super smoothly – there’s no tugging at the skin at all.
Finish & drying time
This takes about a minute or two to absorb into the skin. Once it dries, you can barely detect it’s there. There’s no stickiness or chalkiness, your underarm area literally just feels like your skin.
Wear time & performance
For me, the longevity of Wild’s Roll On is pretty similar to their stick deodorant. I can get a good day’s wear out of it if I’m not doing heavy exercise. If I’m moving around quite a bit, though, I sometimes find I need to top up.
Gentleness on the skin
Wild Roll On formula has more fragrance in it than their stick one, which means that there’s more potential for irritation. Personally, I haven’t experienced any sensitivity from using this, but it’s always a good idea to patch test a new product if your skin is particularly reactive.
Why you’ll love it (and why you might not)
pros
- Lightweight, fast-absorbing formula
- Non-sticky finish
- No white marks
- Refillable, sustainable packaging
cons
- Fragrance heavy – not as suited to sensitive skin as Wild’s stick deo
- More expensive than other drugstore roll on deodorants
Price & where you can buy it
You can order this Roll On Deodorant directly from the Wild website.
If you buy a case with one deodorant refill, it works out to be £16.49. However, if you subscribe for regular refills (you can pick from 4 – 14 weeks), then the price drops to around £13. You can check out my Wild Stick Deodorant Review for more details on how the subscription model works.
Using my discount code SUMMERSTUDY20 will get you 20% off your order.
Alternatively, you can grab this from your local supermarket. A case and refill set is £15, and you might even be able to find a discount. I know that with a Nectar card, you can grab this from Sainsbury’s for just under £10 at the moment.
Of course, it is more expensive than a single-use roll on, but the good this is that once you have the case, you only need to buy the refills going forwards. The refills are about £6 each.

Final thoughts: Is Wild’s Roll On Deo worth buying?
I’ve found myself reaching for this deodorant a lot recently… more so than my trusty deo stick.
I do love the stick version but I can’t deny that the weightless, invisible aspect of the roll on does it give it a slight edge.
That, and the fact that the roll on is far less messy. There’s no flakiness and no product escaping onto the case – it just feels a bit more fuss-free to use.
I think this is a game changer for people who want to make the switch to natural, sustainable deodorant but don’t get on with stick formulas.
