AD info | These lip balms were very kindly sent to me by PURESEOUL. As always, the opinions shared in this post are honest and my own.
As we say goodbye to summer, there’s no better time to set aside the pastels, dig out your autumn lippies and embrace those warm, transitional tones. Don’t worry if you’re lacking a good range of fall lip products though, I’ve got just the collection to sort that out!
A few months back PURESEOUL sent me six new shades of Romand’s Glasting Melting Balm. Despite being a bestseller, I actually hadn’t got around to trying this balm yet, so I was stoked to receive this set in the mail.
These six shades are part of the Glasting Melting Balm F/W23 edition, Dusty on the Nude. As the name suggests, this series consists of a handful of dusty, nude hues which perfectly complement a moody, autumnal makeup look.

About Romand’s Glasting Melting Balms
These Melting Glasting Balms are Romand’s take on a glass shine lipstick. They’re a cross between a gloss and balm, promising a super shiny finish without any stickiness.
They’re completely vegan and packed with nourishing plant oils, like argan, rosehip, jojoba and evening primrose, for extreme hydration.
Feel & finish
Like most balms, this melts into the lips without feeling heavy or sticky. You can definitely feel it on the skin, but it’s not waxy or unpleasant. It just feels really moisturising!
On that note, I love that the way my lips feel is mirrored in they way they look: super moisturised. This balm gives a glass-effect shine which makes the lips appear so plump and hydrated. It’s how I want my lips to look all the time, no dryness or flakiness in sight!
Having said that, good lip prep really is key to getting the glossy, juicy finish you see on the models on Romand’s website. Using a good lip scrub before you wear this balm will ensure that it applies smoothly and evenly.
Scent
These Glasting Melting Balms are super subtle when it comes to scent. I’d describe it as a mixture of fruity and floral. There’s definitely a touch of apple there but it’s not cloying or overpowering in the slightest.
Application
Thanks to the creaminess of the formula, these balms apply like butter. They glide onto the lips so smoothly, especially if the product is already warmed up.
For a sheerer finish, I actually quite like dabbing these onto the lips. You still get a decent amount of shine and the colour looks much more natural.
Packaging
Romand never misses when it comes to product packaging, and the Glasting Melting Balms are no exception. These have a twist-up mechanism which is fully retractable. The Mac and Hourglass gloss sticks got a lot of flak because they weren’t able to be wound back down so I think this was a wise decision!
You do have to twist it quite a few times to release the balm which can be a pain if you’re in a rush, but it’s better than wasting product in my opinion!
I love that the cap clicks when it closes so you know it’s fully secured. I also think these are the perfect size for slipping into a purse or pocket, especially since many glossy balms on the market seem to come in long tubes.
Shade range & swatches
Romand’s Glasting Melting Balm comes in 15 shades. Shades 01 to 09 are, for the most part, bright and summery, with most running quite pink… though there are some outliers. Shades 01 Coco Nude and 05 Nougat Sand, for example, are decidedly softer and warmer.
The Dusty on the Nude edition, which spans shades 10 to 15, is more muted and autumnal. We’ve got:
- #10 Nu Beige – a beige nude
- #11 Buffy Coral – a coral nude
- #12 Veiled Rose – a soft pink ‘my lips but better’
- #13 Scotch Nude – a burnt brown with a touch of red
- #14 Dear Apple – a coral red
- #15 Pecan Brew – a warm brick red
I think Romand have been quite generous with the ‘nude’ labelling here since, as you can tell from the descriptions above, shades 13 to 15 pull quite red. Nu Beige, Buffy Coral, and Veiled Rose, however, do give that natural, MLBB effect that’s characteristic of a true nude lippie.
The problem I find with a lot of Romand lip products is that they never look quite the same online as they do in real life. Scotch Nude, Dear Apple and Pecan Brew look way more vibrant in-person than they do in the swatches on the brands website. They’re still lovely shades, just way brighter than I expected!
Pigmentation
As a pale girl, these shades are pretty pigmented on me, although I know this may not be the case for all skin tones.
Admittedly you don’t get much colour pay-off on the first pass, but it can be built up in just a couple of swipes. By the second or third layer this usually reaches peak opacity.
Longevity
Because these don’t have any staining power, I can’t say they’re incredibly long wearing – once the shine wears off that’s pretty much it. This is pretty typical of most lip balms though, and I honestly don’t mind reapplying when I’m out and about.
I do like that when the product wears off my lips still feel moisturised. It’s a good indication that the plant oils are working their magic!
Final thoughts
Romand have nailed it with this formula. It’s soft and creamy but not heavy or sticky in any way. The packaging is smart and doesn’t take up too much space. I also love how the colour can be built up to be as sheer or vibrant as you want it.
As for how it holds up as a lip balm, I’m genuinely really impressed by just how moisturising it is. I expected it to feel like a lipstick on the lips but it’s much more nourishing. These tinted balms have quickly become my go-to when my lips are feeling a bit dry and I can see myself getting loads of use out of them over the colder months.
Pros:
– Glossy, high-shine finish
– Non-sticky
– Pleasant, subtle scent
– Highly moisturising
Cons:
– Shades don’t look the same online as they do in real life
