I always find it hard to pick a beauty subscription box and stick to it, just because I’m never sure if I’ll get use out of what’s in it! Sheet masks are probably the exception though. Honestly, when don’t these come in handy?!
I spotted a new sheet mask subscription service, Sonagi, a little while ago and was instantly intrigued. The reviews were great, I liked the branding, and it seemed pretty affordable too!
It didn’t take much for me to sign up and, after two months of using this service, here are my thoughts…
Who is Sonagi?
Sonagi is a Korean sheet mask subscription service that’s set on helping UK beauty enthusiasts explore a wider, more diverse range of face masks. They handpick their sheet masks in Myeongdong, a trendy shopping district in Seoul, so they have their finger on the pulse of what’s new and popular locally.
According to their website, they try to source masks from a mixture of established Korean brands that are likely already known internationally, such as Innisfree, Dr. Jart+ and Torriden, as well as up-and-coming brands that are perhaps more popular domestically, like MediHeal and Dermatory.
How does the mask subscription work?
Sonagi currently offers a choice of three subscription boxes: the Small Box (3 masks per month), the Regular Box (5 masks per month), and the Premium Box (it’s unclear how many masks this includes!).
When I signed up a couple of months ago, I believe you could only order the Regular Box, so I love that they’ve expanded the selection to cater for all budgets and needs!
Pick the box that best suits you and, once you start your subscription, your first sheet mask package will be sent out pretty much straight away. Delivery is included in the monthly price of the box so you don’t have to worry about added costs. And they offset the carbon emissions from shipping too!
What’s really great about Sonagi’s subscription model is that there’s completely no commitment. You can delay your box for a week or two, skip a whole month if you’ve got a backlog of masks, or cancel your subscription entirely at any point.
What comes in each package?
If you choose the ‘regular box’, each month you’ll get five different Korean sheet masks, plus a one-pager containing a short description of each mask and what skin type / concerns it’s suited to.
With your first subscription ‘box’, you can also opt in to receive a free gua sha which is a really nice addition!
Month 1 masks
CNP Laboratory Propolis Energy Ampule Mask
Honestly, I haven’t been able to find out much about this mask!
I initially thought it was the same as the CNP 2-Step Propolis Mask but that one doesn’t seem to contain fragrance and this one does!
The scent is pretty strong and botanical, but not a deal breaker for me since it dissipates after a while.
Thanks to the inclusion of propolis, honey and royal jelly, the mask itself is fairly moisturising. It does have a sticky feel to it though, sort of like the tackiness you get with snail mucin.
Ingredients
Purified water, Propanediol, PEG/PPG-17/6 copolymer, 1,2-butanediol, Betaine, Panthenol, Allantoin, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Beta-Glucan, Glycerin, Propolis Extract (200ppm), Honey Extract, Royal Jelly Extract, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Crosspolymer, Trisodium EDT A, Sodium Polyacrylate, Tromethamine, Ethanol, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Fragrance, Citronellol, Geraniol, Linalool.
Wonjin Effect Energy Supplement Concentrated Essence Mask
Wonjin is a new brand for me, so I was really excited to give this mask a try.
The ingredients list is pretty long, but there does seem to be quite a few gems in here.
We’ve got green tea, ginger and liquorice root extract which are great for soothing the skin. As well as Wonjin’s own Peptide Complex that helps to stimulate collagen and soften the appearance of fine lines.
I like how all the benefits are listed on the front of the pack so you know exactly what you’re getting as soon as you pick it up.

Water, Dipropylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, 1,2-Hexanediol, Chlorphenesin, Glycerin, Arginine, Carbomer, Allantoin, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Schisandra Chinensis Fruit Extract, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Seed Extract, Disodium EDTA, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Polyglyceryl-4 Laurate, Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Trehalose, Fragrance, Acorus Calamus Root Extrac, Sea Water, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Peat Water, Glycerine, Serine, Glutamic Acid, Aspartic Acid, Leucine, alanine, Lysine, Tyrosine, PhenylTyrosine, Threonine, Proline, Valine, Isoleucine, Histidine, Methionine, Cysteine, Niacinamide, Calcium Pantothenate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Pyridoxine HCl, Sodium Starch Octenylsuccinate, Maltodextrin, Silica, Pentylene Glycol, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Hyaluronic Acid, Ethylhexylglycerin, Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Copper Tripeptide-1, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Acacia Senegal Gum, Citric Acid, Potassium Sorbate, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Linalool
Dr. Jart+ Water Jet Vital Hydra Solution
Dr. Jart+ is already pretty well known internationally but I actually hadn’t tried any of their sheet masks before I received this.
This mask is £6.50 by itself, so you’re getting your money’s worth for the subscription box just by having this in here!
Like the Wonjin mask, this contains liquorice, green tea and ginger to soothe and tone the skin. Hyaluronic acid and algae extract also provide a burst of hydration.
This mask isn’t sticky and it absorbs well – it’s definitely one I’d repurchase.
Ingredients
Aqua, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Alcohol, 1,2-Hexanediol, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Cyclopentasiloxane, Arginine, Cyclohexasiloxane, Caprylyl Glycol, Cyclomethicone, PEG-10 Dimethicone, Chlorphenesin, Xanthan Gum, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Panthenol, Betaine, Glycyrrhiza Glabra Root Extract, Zingiber Officinale Root Extract, Schizandra Chinensis Fruit Extract, Coptis Japonica Root Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Citrus Grandis Seed Extract, Disodium EDTA, Acorus Calamus Root Extract, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, Polysorbate 60, Sorbitan Isostearate, Xylitylglucoside, Anhydroxylitol, Xylitol, Hyaluronic Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Laminaria Japonica Extract, Perilla Ocymoides Leaf Extract, Algae Extract, Ethylhexylglycerin.
Farm Stay Acerola Visible Difference Mask Sheet
Farm Stay’s sheet masks tend to focus on the benefits of one key ingredient. In this instance it’s Acerola, a fruit similar to cherries which is rich in ascorbic acid (i.e. vitamin C).
Vitamin C is great for brightening the skin and fighting signs of ageing. There’s also glycerin and sodium hyaluronate in this mask, which both help to hydrate dull, tired skin.
I love that this mask is really soaked in essence so it doesn’t dry out too quickly. It also fits the face well.
Ingredients
Water, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, 1,2–Hexanediol, Polyglyceryl–10 Laurate, Diethylhexyl Sodium Sulfosuccinate, Xanthan Gum, Chlorphenesin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Alginic Acid, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Butylene Glycol, Acerola Fruit Extract, Disodium EDTA, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Fragrance
Farm Stay Green Tea Seed Visible Difference Mask Sheet
Another plant-based option from Farm Stay, this Green Tea Seed mask is ideal for skin that’s lacking moisture and radiance.
Green tea, known for its calming, antimicrobial properties, is obviously the star ingredient. But that’s not the only skincare hero. This mask also contains allantoin which soothes, softens and protects the skin.
As with the Acerola mask, this one is saturated in essence, making it feel super refreshing and hydrating when applied.
Ingredients
Purified Water, Methylpropanediol, Glycereth-26, Butylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Green Tea Extract (1,000ppm), Betaine, Xanthan Gum, Allantoin, Carbomer, Ethylhexylglycerin, Polysorbate 20, Triethanolamine, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance, Limonene, Hexyl Cinnamal.
Month 2 masks
Banobagi Vita Genic Jelly Mask
Banobagi’s Jelly Mask collection is pretty extensive, and each vitamin-inspired mask has a different function.
The vitamin B mask, formulated with Jeju Aloe Vera, is the ‘relaxing’ one – designed to calm and soothe the skin in just 15 minutes.
The ingredients list is impressive. There’s skin brighteners like niacinamide and vitamin C, as well as classic soothers like panthenol and allantoin.
Ingredients
Aqua, Methylpropanediol, Glycerin, Niacinamide, Panthenol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Hydroxyacetophenone, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Tromethamine, Sodium Hyaluronate, Trehalose, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Allantoin, Xanthan Gum, Adenosine, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Disodium EDTA, Retinyl Palmitate, Thiamine HCI, Riboflavin, Niacin, Carnitine HCI, Pantothenic Acid, Biotin, Folic Acid, Ascorbic Acid, Tocopherol
SNP Charcoal Mineral Black Ampoule Mask
In all honesty, I don’t think this mask would have stood out to me if I’d seen it on the shelf… but I’m glad it was included in this month’s subscription!
The USP of this mask is that it contains charcoal powder, which is what gives it that unique colour. Charcoal is meant to control excess oil and remove impurities, it also has antimicrobial effects.
Many of the other ingredients in this sheet mask, such as green tea and witch hazel, actually have bacteria-fighting properties too!
Ingredients
Water, Glycerin, Mineral Water(1,000 mg), Alcohol, Betaine, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Castanea Crenata (Chestnut) Shell Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Caulerpa Lentillifera Extract, Fomes Officinalis (Mushroom) Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Charcoal Powder(6.25 mg), Polysorbate 80, Carbomer, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Phenoxyethanol, Triethanolamine, Disodium EDTA, Perfume
Farm Stay Milk Visible Difference Mask Sheet
There was only one Farm Stay mask in the second month, and this time it wasn’t plant-themed!
I don’t think I’ve come across any skincare products containing milk extract before so I was really interested to see what the benefits would be.
Supposedly it’s meant to hydrate and refresh dry, tired skin. It’s kind of hard to tell whether it’s the betaine and allantoin that are actually doing the heavy lifting here though!
Ingredients
Water, Methylpropanediol, Glycereth-26, Butylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Milk Extract(1,000ppm), Betaine, Xanthan Gum, Allantoin, Carbomer, Ethylhexylglycerin, Polysorbate 20, Triethanolamine, Disodium EDTA, Pehnoxyethanol, Fragrance, Linalool
JMsolution Selfie Barrier Heartleaf Mask
Like the SNP mask, this is another one that (looking at the packaging) I wouldn’t have necessarily picked up for myself, but I did end up enjoying it.
Aside from the fragrance, the ingredients list is pretty strong. There’s arginine, trehalose and panthenol which are natural moisturisers, along with allantoin and heartleaf extract which are great for calming irritated skin.
I have a weakness for heartleaf products and this mask certainly did not disappoint!
Ingredients
Water, Glycerin, Methylpropanediol, Glycereth-26, Allantoin, Carbomer, Arginine, Betaine, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Trehalose, Panthenol, Glyceryl Acrylate/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Butylene Glycol, Houttuynia Cordata Extract(10ppm), Sodium Hyaluronate, Melia Azadirachta Leaf Extract, Disodium Phosphate, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Pentylene Glycol, Sodium Phosphate, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Rosa Damascena Flower Water, Polysorbate 60, 1,2-Hexanediol, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance, Phenoxyethanol, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Ethylhexylglycerin
Dr. Jart+ Water Jet Vital Hydra Solution
This was one of my favourites from the previous month so I was pretty happy to receive it again! I won’t include another picture and description, but I thought I’d add it again at the end, just to show that there were indeed five masks in the box!
Final thoughts
After trying out the Sonagi sheet mask subscription box for a couple of months, I can genuinely say I’m quite impressed by the selection I was sent.
There’s a good mix of cheaper and more expensive masks so you do feel like you’re getting value for money. I also liked that, for the most part, the masks in the second month were completely different to those I’d received in my first month. I only received one mask in the second month that I’d got before, and even then it was the one that I’d hoped I’d be able to try again!
Because Sonagi buys in bulk to distribute to UK skincare enthusiasts, I feel like it gives you the opportunity to try out sheet masks that perhaps you wouldn’t buy if you were just shopping for yourself. Some of these masks, for example, can only be purchased in a ten-pack (at least from what I can see online), so it’s great to be able to try one or two out before committing to a multipack.
How much are the sheet mask subscription boxes?
Sonagi’s cheapest subscription option is their Small Box which is £9.99. You get three sheet masks a month with this box, so it’s a pretty good tester kit if you’re not 100% sure if this subscription will work for you.
The next step up is the Regular Box. This one is £12.98 and gives you five sheet masks a month. I like this because it means you can basically do one mask a week with a spare one for those days when you really need a hydration boost!
The Premium Box is £29.99 a month. I’m not actually sure what makes this different to the Regular Box – I’m assuming it must contain more masks but it’s not clear on the website! I’ll email Sonagi to check and will update this post when I hear back 😊
