AD info | I received this item as part of Spectrum’s affiliate programme. This post is not sponsored and my opinion of this palette is completely my own.
Spectrum are famously known for their makeup brushes, but no one really talks about their makeup! I reviewed the Core Cosmetics collection a little while back and to this day the Sunbounce bronzer and Glowful Mist are probably the most used items in my makeup bag.
I’m not really an eyeshadow person (I will wear it occasionally but it’s nothing something I’ll apply everyday) so I was a little unsure about buying this palette. I hate buying things if I know I’m not going to get use out of them. But I’m so glad I got this! Let me explain why…
A quick intro to Spectrum
Spectrum Collections is a UK-based beauty brand that was founded by sisters Sophie and Hannah back in 2014. It specialises in makeup brushes and other beauty tools, but has branched out into makeup in more recent years.
All their products are cruelty-free and vegan, they’ve also partnered with The Aspinall Foundation to support their conservation work. You can even make donations through the Spectrum site.
Packaging
The Spectrum Pantherine Palette comes in a fun, leopard-print / tortoiseshell box with the brand’s logo and signature gold lettering on the front. The eyeshadow pans themselves are housed in a sturdy gold compact which, like the outer box, is decorated with a leopard-style print. There’s a large-ish square mirror on the inside of the lid and the compact closes with a satisfying click. It’s not super heavy but it still has some weight to it, which makes it feel like it’s good quality.
Shades and swatches
The Pantherine Palette is comprised of nine shades, six mattes and three metallics. See if you can spot the theme! There’s:
- Cool cat – true brown (matte)
- Purr – warm brown (matte)
- Pounce – mustard yellow (matte)
- Gaze – true brown (metallic)
- Wild – gold (metallic)
- Fierce – copper (metallic)
- Kitten – warm tan (matte)
- Whisker – bright orange (matte)
- Feline – terracotta (matte)
I like the way the compact is split up, with the metallic shades separating the mattes on either side. I also think the cohesion between the shades is great, I feel like all of these shades could be used in combination with each other. There’s truly nothing worse than buying a new palette, then realising only a couple of the shades work together!
The mattes are creamy and super velvety, while the metallics are equally soft and buttery. When it comes to pigment, I actually can’t believe just how intense the shades are. I’ve never used a palette where all of the shades have the same amount of colour payoff – it’s crazy that there’s not one shade in the Pantherine Palette that shows up less than the others. The swatches below were done in just one or two swipes, you can tell it really doesn’t take a lot to build up intensity.
My thoughts
I honestly have nothing bad to say about this palette, it’s such good quality and so underrated – I just wish more people knew about it. The shades are incredibly long lasting and have some of the best pigment I’ve seen from any eyeshadow palette I’ve tried.
Obviously you’re only really getting one colour story with this palette, so if you’re someone who prefers variation over cohesion, then this might not be for you. But if you’re looking for a warm, autumnal eyeshadow compact that can be worn day or night, I think this is a great staple to have in your makeup collection.
I really hope Spectrum decides to come out with some more eyeshadow palettes this year. Based on the quality of the Pantherine one, I’d snap up anything they bring out in a heartbeat!

Where can I buy this palette?
You can get this from Beauty Bay or directly from the Spectrum website. It’s currently 25% off on Beauty Bay and 50% off on Spectrum, making it only £15. I’d 100% say this is worth picking up before it goes back to full price.
