If you’ve been on the Internet at all over the past few weeks, you’ve probably seen makeup artist Stephanie Valentine (aka @glamzilla) revealing her secret to naturally glowy skin. Spoiler, it involved two products from Glow Recipe and one magical last ingredient: the Innisfree Jeju Cherry Blossom Jelly Cream.
Seeing the results, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this cream. If my skin looked half as good as Stephanie’s did after using this product, it would definitely be going on the holy grail list.
So, what exactly is a jelly cream? And did this product live up to all the hype?
What is it?
A clear, gel-type cream which is designed to hydrate and brighten the skin, providing a refreshed and revitalised overall look. The unique texture allows the product to glide onto the skin without leaving a sticky or tacky finish.
What makes the Innisfree Jelly Cream special?
This product is infused with cherry blossom extract which is harvested from Jeju-do, an island lying just south of South Korea. This extract is rich in anti-oxidants and contains essential fatty acids that help to protect the skin barrier and keep your skin feeling soft and supple.
On top of this, this jelly cream contains niacinamide (which tightens pores and evens out skin tone) and betaine (which provides hydration).
Take a look at the full ingredients list below…
Innisfree Jeju Cherry Blossom Jelly Cream Ingredients
Water, Dipropylene Glycol, Niacinamide, Betaine, 1,2-Hexanediol, Carbomer, Tromethamine, Perfume, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/Beheneth-25 Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Disodium EDTA, Ethylhexylglycerin, Propanediol, Prunus Yedoensis Leaf Extract(40Ppm), Tocopherol
How should you use it?
Apply it on clean skin as you would a regular moisturiser. I tend to take a small scoopful and dot it around my face before gently rubbing it in, this seems to provide a nice, even coverage.
TOP TIP: I’d advise going in a second time and applying a bit more to any dry patches you might have. Since this is a very light product, you need to put on quite a thick layer to feel the hydrating benefits.
Scent
Perfume is listed pretty high up in the ingredients list so it’s not surprising that this does smell quite strong. However, it’s not unpleasant. I would describe it as a floral, somewhat sweet, scent.
Texture
The jelly is really lightweight and feels super soothing on the skin. It’s kind of cooling when you first apply it, but it gradually warms as you rub/pat it into your face. It dries down pretty quickly which I actually quite like, as it means you can go straight in with your sunscreen and makeup.
Packaging
The packaging isn’t too extravagant – the product comes in a simple pink jar with a pale grey lid. A spatula isn’t included so if you don’t like dipping your fingers into products, buying your own might be a good idea.
Sustainability
The plastic jar appears to be recyclable, as does the cardboard box it comes in. The box is FSC labelled and all the text is printed with soy ink which is a bonus!
Overall thoughts
While I like the idea of the Innisfree jelly cream, I do think it’s lacking in some aspects. The brand doesn’t say it’s a moisturiser, but I did expect it to be a little more hydrating than it actually is. You do need to apply quite a thick layer to get the moisture that your skin needs – or at least the moisture that my skin does!
Since it is very lightweight, I feel this would be better suited for the summer when my skin leans more towards the oily side. So I’m definitely going to try it out again when the weather warms up. But for now, I’ll have to stick to something a bit thicker.
Other than that, I love the finish and the way it sits on the skin. It really does make your face feel soft to the touch! My foundation looks so smooth after using this jelly cream and there’s no pilling at all.
I only wish that the hydration aspect was there. Then this product would no doubt have 5 stars from me!
Where can I buy the Innisfree Jelly Cream?
You can pick this up from YesStyle and Stylevana for around £19.
Have you tried the Innisfree Jeju Cherry Blossom Jelly Cream? What did you think of it?
Kelly says
can I use it to sleep at night?
Ellen says
Hi Kelly, if your skin leans towards the oily side I think you could use this as a nighttime moisturiser. If your skin is a little drier, I’d suggest using this during the day instead. It feels really hydrating when it’s first applied but it soaks in pretty quickly. I generally like to use a thicker cream at night to really keep my skin moisturised. Hope this helps! 🙂

Is it halal ?
Ellen says
I’m not sure sorry! It doesn’t contain alcohol or any animal ingredients, but I haven’t found anything that says it’s definitely halal. Incidecoder has a breakdown of the ingredients list which might be helpful 🙂

is it okay for acne-prone dry skin? 🤍
Ellen says
Hi, this is great for acne-prone skin as it doesn’t contain any pore-clogging ingredients. But I wouldn’t say it’s the best for dry skin. It won’t dry your skin out but it also won’t offer that much hydration either!

Hallooo is this alright to use at night for combination skin?
Ellen says
Hiya, you probably could use this at night if your combination skin leans more oily. My combination skin tends to be more dry so I usually prefer something a bit more moisturising at night 😊
Meiden says
Is it good for sensitive skin??
Ellen says
Hi, this should generally be ok for sensitive skin, although it does contain fragrance (which some people find irritating) so it would definitely be good to do a patch test before using it 🙂
