Beauty podcasts are somewhat of a revelation to me. I love watching skincare and makeup tutorials on YouTube, but I often struggle to find the time to sit down and stare at a screen.
I’m very much a visual person so I thought, at first, I’d find it really difficult to take in what was being said if I couldn’t actually see it.
But I was so wrong! These podcasts have been a game-changer.
I realised that there was a whole side of the beauty industry that I was missing out on, and I just wish I’d discovered it sooner.
So, to spare you the time searching, here are my top picks!
1. Breaking Beauty
To kick off our list of beauty podcasts, we’re starting off with a classic: Breaking Beauty. This one is hosted by beauty editors, Jill Dunn and Carlene Higgins, so we’re definitely in good (experienced) hands.
I love this podcast because it’s so enlightening – I always come away feeling like I’ve learned something new.
I also really appreciate their choice of guests. It’s great to hear from the founders of some of my favourite brands. I love getting to know their philosophy and their reasons for creating the products that they do.
2. Full Coverage
Harriet and Lindsey host Full Coverage, a podcast dedicated to keeping their listeners up to date with the latest happenings in the beauty world.
Their ‘New News’ segment is super helpful for people, like me, who sometimes struggle to stay on top of all the new product launches and makeup lines.
3. Stefanie and Joan’s Beauty Bar
If you’re interested in K-beauty, this is definitely the podcast for you. It’s fairly new, in fact, I think the first episode only came out a couple of weeks ago. But it’s already become one of my go-tos!
I like that the tone of this podcast is really fun and chatty. It doesn’t feel like you’re being bombarded with facts or figures, rather it sounds like you’re just listening to a couple of friends giving you their honest opinions. 100% recommend.
For those who find it easier to take in information visually, you can also watch it on Youtube here.
4. Skincare School
Again, this a new-ish podcast, but one that’s definitely worth listening to. The hosts, Amy and Michelle, start right from the beginning and focus in on essential beauty basics like ‘What’s your skin type?’ and ‘How to start a skincare routine’.
It really is Skincare 101.
The episodes are quite short (around 20-25 minutes) which makes them perfect for listening to whilst you’re getting yourself ready in the morning.
5. Beauty IQ Uncensored
I love, love, love this podcast. It’s really informative, but at the same time so fun to listen to.
Joanna and Hannah keep it real by discussing things that many people are perhaps afraid to talk about, like cellulite, periods and hair loss.
They also feature some amazing guests so I’m always really excited to see who’s appearing next. Seriously, go and listen, you won’t regret it!
6. Naked Beauty
This is a great podcast for those who love skincare talk and product reviews, but are also interested in the social/political side of beauty and fashion.
It deals with topics like transphobia, body positivity and the lack of diversity within the beauty industry.
Plus, Brooke has the calmest, most soothing voice. I could listen to her talk for hours!
7. Allure: The Science of Beauty
If you really want to delve deep into the world of skincare, this is definitely the podcast for you. It’s hosted by Michelle Lee, the editor in chief of Allure, and Jenny Bailly, the executive beauty director, who explain the science behind the beauty products/treatments that we use.
Not only do the hosts obviously know what they’re talking about, this podcast has a guest roster full of brilliant chemists and dermatologists who share their expertise.
I think it’s really important to understand what we’re putting on our face and body, so I highly recommend tuning into this one!
8. Gloss Angeles
Gloss Angeles is one of those beauty podcasts that has you instantly hooked. The hosts, Sara and Kirbie, are just so cheerful and bubbly. Listening to this is an immediate mood booster.
I honestly learn so much from each episode and I love how all information is presented in such a fun, accessible way.
I also think it’s great that the hosts aren’t afraid to share their real, honest opinions about certain products or topics. Everything feels really open and transparent.
Are there any beauty podcasts you recommend? Let me know what you’ve been listening to!
